There's no need for that single target dps (which is the whole point of the play stile), since even a spirit scepter could do enough damage to kill the wither bosses. Honestly, mage isn't great in f7 (especially as cata 30) w/o hyperion. I played bers until about cata 32 then switched to mage when I could afford a hyperion. I assume you're having trouble finding decent parties as a mage w/o hyperion whereas archer with bones (or even melee tank/bers/healer) might still get you into parties.uh yes i need mage setup .
